WHEN should students access their classes remotely?
- Students will access classes remotely when they are not in attendance due to quarantine or as arranged between the principal and the parent.
- Students will also access classes remotely when we are utilizing a hybrid model with some students in attendance at school and some in attendance at home.
- Students are expected to access their classes according to the normal school/bell schedule and participate in remote instruction with their class.
- Daily remote attendance is critical to ensure students keep up with content delivery and classwork.
HOW do students access their classes remotely?
- Virtual Academy uses Edgenuity (elementary) and Apex Learning (Grades 6-12).
- Most schools utilize Google Classroom to deliver remote instruction. Please see your school’s website for specific information.
What are the Expectations for Attendance?
- Students are expected to access their classes according to the normal school/bell schedule and participate in remote instruction.
Is There Any Flexibility on Due Dates of Assignments?
- Yes, we understand that events beyond the student’s control may arise (parent’s work, illness, tech issues,…)
- Therefore, students have the full ten days while on remote learning to makeup assignments.
- However, it is important to keep up with remote instruction and classwork as much as possible.
What if I have an issue with accessing a virtual classroom for a synchronous instructionLearning in which learners and instructor are in the same place, at the same time, in order for learning to take place. or questions about an assignment?
- Please email the teacher for direction and assistance.
- Teachers are certainly going to be flexible this school year given the circumstances.
- The key is to stay in communication with each teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
- Check RDS Parent Access regularly that completed work is recorded for a grade.
